    Position Overview

    We are seeking experienced Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) Telecommunications Technicians/Engineers to support mission-critical DoD network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise with fiber-optic and copper cable plant, including troubleshooting, testing, and splicing in structured cabling, main distribution frame, underground, and aerial environments. This role supports installation, sustainment, and repair of government telecommunications networks.

    Key Responsibilities

    OSP / ISP Infrastructure

    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber-optic and copper cable plant in OSP and ISP environments
    • Perform work in underground (duct bank, manhole, handhole) and aerial (pole, strand) scenarios
    • Interpret construction drawings, splice diagrams, and as-built documentation

    Fiber & Copper Splicing

    • Perform single-mode and multimode fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical)
    • Perform copper splicing and pair restoration (aerial and underground)
    • Execute sheath openings, closures, grounding, bonding, and restoration

    Testing & Troubleshooting

    • Troubleshoot existing copper pairs (opens, shorts, crosses, grounds, attenuation issues)
    • Troubleshoot fiber pairs using OTDR, power meter, and light source
    • Validate performance against government and industry standards

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Capture redlines, splice records, and test results for as-built packages
    • Follow DoD, DISA, and service-specific installation and safety standards
    • Comply with site access, base regulations, and security requirements

    Required Qualifications

    • Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain one
    • Demonstrated experience with OSP and ISP fiber and copper networks
    • Hands-on experience troubleshooting existing copper and fiber pairs
    • Experience performing fiber and copper splicing in both underground and aerial environments
    • Familiarity with telecom tools and test equipment (OTDR, fusion splicer, TDR, copper test sets)
    • Ability to read and interpret telecom drawings and specifications
    • Willingness to travel and work in operational government facilities

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience supporting DISA, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or other DoD customers
    • Knowledge of TIA/EIA, BICSI, and DoD telecom standards
    • Experience working in secure facilities and mission-critical environments
    • BICSI, FOA, or manufacturer certifications
    • Experience supporting modernization, refresh, or sustainment programs

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Ability to work in confined spaces (manholes, handholes)
    • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights for aerial installations
    • Ability to lift and carry telecom equipment and materials
    • Willingness to work nights, weekends, or extended shifts when required
