An Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician is responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining orthotic and prosthetic devices for patients. The O&P Technician provides clinical and technical support for all incoming O&P services and needs. This person is responsible for the technical development and knowledge of fabricating orthotic and prosthetic quality devices. Responsible for fabricating with in-depth knowledge, expertise, and ability to provide quality fabrication of devices offered. Must work with the practitioner team to coordinate and execute on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Design and fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices based on patient needs and specifications.

  • Keep the lab clean, organized, and safe.

  • Knowledge and technical skills are needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses. (orthopedic braces) according to patient measurements and casts and comply with practitioners'' work orders.

  • Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.

  • Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills.

  • Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.

  • Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with orthotic and prosthetic devices in a lab.
