ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) seeks a ORION Facilities Electrical O&M Technician, Senior in Kennedy Space Center, FL.Job Summary:Technicians operate and maintain systems and equipment used in the developing, fabricating, testing, producing, assembling, and sustaining the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) used to transport astronauts to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit such as the Moon and Mars. Technicians in this occupational family may have a wide breadth of knowledge in various Facility and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) & spacecraft systems and/or a specific depth of knowledge in a craft, system, or subsystem. Excludes quality assurance inspectors and material handlers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform preventative / corrective maintenance on various GSE specifically to include repairs and operation of Cranes, overhead doors, mechanized work stations, and heavy equipment.Perform rigging inspections and rigging in support of lifts within a manufacturing area.Background in basic electrical troubleshooting with electrical license preferred.Experience with general plumbing with wet brazing experience preferredGeneral knowledge of HVAC operation and troubleshooting techniques.Performs a range of duties in the mechanical, electromechanical, and Facilities GSE when constructing and assembling associated ground support equipment for spacecraft assembly.Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, schematics, engineering documents, work authorization documents and other written or verbal instructions.Constructs, assembles, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, repairs and maintain equipment, components and subcomponents, devices, and systems in accordance with testing, engineering and installation instructions.Operates and maintains related equipment: Boom lifts, Scissor lifts & Forklifts.Uses various measuring devices to include, Micrometers, Calipers, and laser measuring devices, multimeters, megohmmeters, torque wrenches,.Familiar with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) proceduresComfortable working at heights with fall protection and limited access points.Complete, update and maintain all required documentation, reports, etc., manually or in digital databases.Make recommendations to improve safety, work quality, efficiencies, and productivity.
