We are seeking an Organ Services Supervisor to help lead and develop the clinical professionals responsible for facilitating organ donation throughout our service area. This role combines leadership, mentoring, quality oversight, operational coordination, and clinical expertise to support exceptional donation outcomes and advance HonorBridge's life-saving mission.

The Opportunity
The Organ Services Supervisor partners closely with the Manager of Organ Services and the Vice President of Clinical Operations to provide leadership and support for Organ Donation Coordinators (ODCs).
In this role, you will help develop staff, oversee operational processes, monitor quality and performance metrics, support recruitment and onboarding efforts, and provide clinical guidance to ensure best practices in donor management and organ recovery. The Organ Services Supervisor serves as both a leader and a resource, helping teams perform at their highest level while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and excellence.
This position also maintains an active operational presence through on-call coverage and ongoing participation in donation activities.
Schedule Expectations
- Includes weekend and overnight on-call responsibilities.
- Provides up to six shifts of clinical or Administrator On Call (AOC) coverage per month.
- Requires flexibility to support operational and staffing needs.
What You'll Lead
In this role, you will:
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to Organ Donation Coordinators.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new team members.
- Partner with Learning & Development to identify educational needs and coordinate training opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, clinical excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
- Support employee development through coaching, performance feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, selection, goal-setting, and performance management activities.
Operational Leadership
- Assist in managing daily Organ Services operations and staffing needs.
- Support the preparation, administration, and management of departmental call schedules.
- Provide clinical and operational guidance to staff during complex donation situations.
- Maintain active involvement in donation operations through scheduled clinical or AOC coverage.
- Collaborate with organizational leaders to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
Quality & Performance Improvement
- Assist with the development, monitoring, and evaluation of departmental performance metrics.
- Review donor records and coordinate timely documentation corrections when needed.
- Conduct audits and monitor compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Help establish best practices that improve consistency, quality, and donation outcomes across the department.
Clinical & Technical Expertise
- Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for Organ Donation Coordinators.
- Support donor management and recovery activities through consultation and coaching.
- Review medical records and donor documentation to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.
- Maintain access to hospital electronic medical record systems and utilize available clinical information appropriately.
- Ensure confidentiality of donor, recipient, patient, and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and HonorBridge standards.
Organizational Collaboration
- Partner with leaders across Clinical Operations, Learning & Development, Quality, and Hospital Services to support organizational goals.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration between teams.
- Participate in operational planning, departmental initiatives, and organizational projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Organ Services or Vice President of Clinical Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of donor management experience within an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO).
- Strong understanding of organ donation processes, donor management, and recovery operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to manage stress and perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of operating room environments and clinical workflows.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to the mission of organ and tissue donation.
- ABTC certification (CPTC) required within two years of eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership, supervisory, preceptor, or mentoring experience.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives, auditing, or performance management.
- Experience developing educational content, training programs, or competency-based learning.
- Strong understanding of OPTN policies and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with workforce scheduling and operational resource management.
