    PURPOSE
    Our client is looking for a Senior Ore Control Geologist to lead ore control activities to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role provides technical oversight of grade control practices, ore–waste delineation, and short-term geological modeling to optimize resource recovery and minimize dilution. The Senior Ore Control Geologist will work closely with mine operations, engineering, and metallurgy to achieve production, reconciliation, and quality targets. The role emphasizes safety leadership, operational excellence, risk management, and continuous process improvement.
     
     
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Oversee ore control calculations, field mapping, and daily map publication with accuracy and timeliness
    • Lead grade control and ore control programs, including blast hole design and reconciliation with mine models
    • Maintain and update grade control block models and geological interpretations, including 3D modeling support
    • Ensure data integrity through QA/QC processes, assay validation, and adherence to sampling SOPs
    • Conduct pit mapping, data analysis, and reconciliation studies to manage ore loss and dilution
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Survey, Operations, and Metallurgy to meet production targets
    • Supervise and mentor junior geologists and field staff
    • Prepare and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
    • Drive continuous improvement in geology processes and work practices
    • Apply economic judgment to optimize ore control decisions and maximize value
    • Promote safety leadership and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards
    • Manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
     
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geologic Engineering
    • 5-10 years of experience in ore control, grade control, or production mine geology. Open-pit hard rock environment preferred
    • Experience with mine modeling software (e.g., MineSight, Vulcan, Datamine)
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication
