Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Shipping & Receiving Associate to join a busy warehouse and distribution team in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying merchandise, updating inventory records, and safely placing products into designated warehouse locations.
The ideal candidate has previous warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 1 year of related warehouse experience required; 3 years preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
Basic computer skills required
Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to perform multiple job functions within the warehouse department
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Flexibility to work some Fridays as needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Receive and verify incoming shipments against shipping and inventory documentation
Confirm item numbers, quantities, and product information are accurate
Inspect incoming merchandise for damage, defects, or quality concerns
Report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged merchandise to supervisors
Use RF scanners and warehouse tracking systems to record product movement and inventory updates
Rotate stock as needed to maintain inventory accuracy and product freshness
Safely place merchandise into assigned warehouse and storage locations
Maintain established productivity and accuracy goals
Keep receiving, inventory, and warehouse areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse best practices
Perform additional receiving, inventory, and warehouse duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Previous shipping and receiving experience
Distribution center or warehouse experience
Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems
Inventory control, stocking, or material handling experience
Familiarity with cycle counting and inventory rotation procedures
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Ability to remain physically active for extended periods
Comfortable performing warehouse and material-handling duties throughout a variable-length shift
Ability to safely work around warehouse equipment while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Fast-paced warehouse and distribution center environment
Evening and overnight work with variable finish times based on workload
Regular use of RF scanners, inventory systems, and warehouse equipment
Team-oriented environment focused on safety, accuracy, and productivity
Some Friday work may be required based on business needs
