A leader in the design and manufacturing of high-purity gas delivery and gas purification systems is hiring an Orbital & Manual TIG Welder to join its production team in Malvern, PA. This position is responsible for fabricating precision stainless steel components used in highly regulated industries through both manual GTAW (TIG) welding and semi-automatic orbital welding processes.
Working from engineering drawings and production documentation, this individual will play a key role in producing high-quality assemblies while maintaining strict safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual GTAW (TIG) welding and semi-automatic orbital welding on stainless steel tubing and gas delivery system components.
- Prepare materials for fabrication by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning components prior to welding.
- Weld both large and small diameter stainless steel tubing while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing documentation.
- Position and assemble components according to design specifications.
- Inspect completed welds, identify defects, and verify finished products meet quality standards.
- Safely operate orbital welding equipment and follow established welding procedures.
- Complete production records and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel to support manufacturing schedules and material flow.
- Support overtime requirements as needed to meet production demands.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing GTAW (TIG) welding on stainless steel.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, fabrication, or mechanical assembly environment.
- Ability to successfully complete a hands-on TIG welding qualification test.
- Experience with orbital welding equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Fabrication experience, including fitting and preparing materials for welding, is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality, repeatable welds.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision work.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, sit, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines.
