This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Creative Video Team Lead for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Creative Video Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of creative video associates and creating videos for internal OMN promotional work and for outside clients. They work collaboratively, as part of a creative team, on video projects for OMN, including but not limited to promotional videos, client videos, motion graphics for video, tutorials and instructional videos.

Position Duties

Creative Video Team Lead Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Creative Video Associates, providing feedback and critique of video projects
  • Manage a Creative Video request form, ensuring all projects are requested through the form
  • Interact with clients and OMN leaders on requests
  • Meet all deadlines and follow steps in video creation process in Basecamp.
  • Conduct shoots for promotional videos, public service announcements, liners, house advertisements, behind the scenes videos and other special video needs. Collaborate with other members of the Creative Video team as needed.
  • Create videos for outside clients, as directed by supervisor
  • Create multiple storyboards for each video project and pitch them to the client and stakeholder
  • Collaborate closely with others on projects including designers, journalists, photographers, editors, marketers and student leaders
  • Advise and assist with the work of other OMN students on their video projects
  • Other duties as assigned by the adviser

Communication

  • Respond to emails, messages and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN
  • Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur'
  • Meet regularly with broadcast adviser to go over feedback

Collaboration

  • Hold and post regular office hours each week for Orange Media Network, at least half of which should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term
  • Follow all OMN policies and procedures and hold all staff and volunteers to them as well
  • Act professionally

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Premiere or other video editing software
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Eye for visual composition
  • Comfortable shooting and editing video
  • Knowledgeable about field video production
  • Ability and interest in learning to create content for all media platforms
  • Knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and video
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of social media and other video trends
  • Is a strong writer, communicator and comfortable with public speaking
  • Is organized and reliable
  • Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Proficiency using Panasonic Lumix GH series cameras
  • Experience working with horizontal and vertical formats
  • Basic knowledge of Davinci resolve or other color grading software

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Pay Rate:

  • Onboarding: 5 hours per week at $16.80 per hour
  • Full Start: 15-20 hours per week at $16.80 per hour
