Oracle Record-to-Report (R2R) Functional Lead

Role Overview: The Oracle R2R Functional Lead (Manager) provides strategic and operational oversight for the Record-to-Report lifecycle within Oracle Financials Cloud. This role is responsible for the integrity of the financial close process, subledger-to-GL accounting, and the stability of the EPM suite. As a post-production leader, the Lead ensures that L2/L3 support teams operate with high precision, minimizing close blockers and driving continuous process improvement.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Functional Track Leadership:

• Lead end-to-end support across the Oracle R2R landscape, including General Ledger (GL) , Cash Management , Fixed Assets , Lease Management , and Projects (Costing & Billing) .

• Oversee the EPM ecosystem , specifically ARCS, FCCS, EDMCS , and Narrative Reporting , ensuring alignment between financial data and corporate reporting.

• Serve as the primary functional escalation point for critical (P1/P2) period-close issues and accounting discrepancies.

2. Operational Governance & Stability:

• Drive rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues and enhance system reliability.

• Monitor and optimize critical integrations and batch jobs (FBDI/APIs/OIC), overseeing error handling and automated reprocessing protocols.

• Orchestrate Oracle Quarterly Update readiness, including comprehensive impact assessments and cross-functional regression testing.

3. Delivery Management & Reporting:

• Manage L2/L3 functional resource allocation, ensuring adherence to ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management standards.

• Establish and maintain high-fidelity Runbooks, SOPs, and Knowledge Articles .

• Deliver executive-level operational reporting, focusing on SLA compliance, backlog health, and trend analysis of recurring issues.

Technical Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years of Oracle Financials expertise with a specialized focus on R2R accounting flows and Subledger Accounting (SLA).

• Leadership: Proven track record leading Oracle Cloud Operate (AMS) teams in high-pressure, global environments.

• EPM Proficiency: Hands-on experience managing Oracle ARCS and FCCS within a production support framework.

• Systems Integration: Technical literacy in OIC, FBDI, and API-driven interfaces for financial data.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in OTBI and BI Publisher for financial reporting validation.

• Experience with ServiceNow or Jira in an ITIL-aligned service model.

• Expertise in close reporting reconciliation and financial data governance.

Performance Indicators (90-Day Success):

• Achievement of a stabilized R2R support environment with a measurable reduction in recurring close blockers.

• Formalization of structured governance protocols and a refined operational reporting cadence.

• Modernization and validation of the R2R technical runbook library.
