What You Will Do
The Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) is strengthening its enterprise data capabilities and is seeking a dedicated Oracle & Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Administrator to support our expanding database environment. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and optimize the agency's mission-critical data platforms, working alongside experienced database professionals across multiple technologies.
This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational Oracle and OCI expertise and a passion for high-quality database design, reliability, and security. You will play a key role in designing and supporting resilient database solutions, implementing best-practice security controls, and collaborating with technical teams as we continue to modernize our data footprint.
You will work closely with fellow database administrators across several platforms, including Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Information Management System (IMS), and IBM Db2, ensuring ODJFS applications are supported by stable, secure, and well-architected data environments.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Schedule: Full-time.
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities- Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicant's home address.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 36. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $46.00 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
