    Position: Oracle Database Administrator

    Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

    The Opportunity: Purchasing Power is looking for an individual with strong Oracle Database Administration experience supporting front and back-end 12C databases. Working in an enterprise environment and on a team of site ops engineers, ensuring high availability and performance for users, while working closely with our business stakeholders and other partners. In this role you will be partnering with other hardworking engineering minds across the company working on some of the coolest technologies offshore and onsite.     What You Will Do:

    • Setup and Support of Oracle 12c database, as well as Enterprise Manager and Real Applications Clusters.

    • Monitor and improve systems to meet established SLA's, provide guidance on needs for improvement

    • Automate, analyze and report on alert logs

    • Monitor tablespace utilization and storage trends

    • Performance monitoring and tuning

    • Support of DevOps based environment, enabling self-service to other teams

    • Maintain security and best practices compliance on systems and environment

    • Assist in software deployments and monitor changes in established performance baselines

    The Experience You Will Bring:

    • Excellent team skills as well as written and verbal communications

    • 24/7 On-Call availability for service outages (currently running at 99.994% system uptime)

    • Knowledge and Experience with Oracle 12C, 19C including RAC and OEM.

    • Familiarity in a DevOps environment

    • Self-motivated with attention to detail and a desire to explore and master new emerging technologies

    • At least 4 years' experience in Oracle database administration

    • Experience in Ecommerce operations is strongly preferred.

    • Experience with Oracle ASM preferred.

    • Familiarity with Oracle E-Business apps is preferred.

    • Knowledge of Oracle Database Appliance will be a plus.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and data connectors preferred.

    Education & Experience

    • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science / software engineering / Related field with a minimum of 4 years technical experience in meaningful areas.
