Optometric Technician
Location: Tulsa Area, OK
Pay: $17$21/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time
Trinity Employment Specialists is currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Optometric Technician to join a busy medical practice in the Tulsa area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and assisting with routine eye care and clinical services.
Optometric Technician Must-Have Requirements
Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant, or similar clinical role preferred
Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting preferred
Comfortable working directly with patients
Ability to perform and accurately document basic vision and diagnostic testing
Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records
Professional communication and patient service skills
Dependable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Must be willing to complete an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) TB blood test as a condition of employment
Optometric Technician Position Summary
The Optometric Technician will support the optometrist and clinical team with patient preparation, routine testing, documentation, and other clinical duties. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with patients, learning clinic procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Optometric Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with patient examinations and routine clinical procedures
Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
Perform preliminary vision and diagnostic testing as directed
Measure visual acuity and assist with refraction-related testing
Perform tonometry, visual field testing, and other basic ophthalmic testing
Assist with retinal imaging and other diagnostic procedures as needed
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Assist with contact lens-related services and patient education
Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record
Maintain clean and organized examination rooms and equipment
Clean and prepare ophthalmic equipment according to clinic standards
Provide professional and compassionate patient service
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and clinic policies
Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
