About the Role:Optics Unique PLLC is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our growing team in Midland, TX! Responsibilities:- Perform preliminary patient testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and autorefraction
- Assist the optometrist during comprehensive eye exams and specialty procedures
- Collect and document patient medical histories and chief complaints accurately
- Educate patients on contact lens care, insertion, and removal techniques
- Manage frame and lens selections, assist with optical dispensing, and take measurements
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and provide exceptional front-to-back office support
Requirements:- Prior experience as an optometric technician, ophthalmic tech, or in a clinical eye care setting preferred
- Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software a plus
- COA, COT, or CPOT certification preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare a plus
