Overview & Position SummaryThis role supports the development, maintenance, and execution of structural and design options offered across homebuilding communities. The position ensures option offerings are accurate, cost-effective, buildable, and aligned with product strategy and customer expectations. It collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to refine option selections and support operational readiness from plan creation through construction. The role plays an important part in driving option accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction throughout the build cycle.
Primary Responsibilities
Education & ExperienceRequired:• Bachelor's degree in a related field.• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience OR 6-8 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree.Preferred:• Experience in residential construction, homebuilding operations, architectural drafting, purchasing, or design studioenvironments.
Skills & Competencies• Strong understanding of residential construction fundamentals and build processes.• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, and construction documents.• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Working ConditionsWork is primarily performed in a professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment. Periodic visits to construction sites may be required, where exposure to outdoor weather, uneven surfaces, and active construction activity may occur. Occasional travel to community sites or vendor meetings as needed.
Physical Requirements• Ability to sit for extended periods to perform computer-based work.• Ability to stand and walk during site visits, including navigating uneven terrain.• Ability to lift and carry materials or documents up to 20 pounds on occasion.• Ability to visually review detailed drawings, plans, and specifications.• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
