What You’ll Be Responsible For
This is not just a front desk job. It is an integrated patient services position with cross-training and advancement opportunities.
- Welcome and guide pediatric patients and families efficiently and professionally in a friendly manner
- Checking patients in and out accurately
- Staying organized under pressure.
- Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits (training provided)
- Collecting copays and payments at checkout
- Entering and maintaining patient data accurately in our system
- Managing high phone volumes while assisting families in person
- Supporting the optical team with administrative and customer-facing tasks
- Maintaining an organized, clean, HIPAA-compliant front office and showroom
- Cross-train into other optical services including:
- Frame selection and fitting
- Lab processes and lens cutting exposure
- Inventory management
Minimum Requirements
At least 6 months of front desk or administrative experience in a medical office
Experience in any of the following environments:
• Medical or dental office
• Optical or vision care setting
• Insurance-based customer service
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Able to multitask in a fast paced pediatric setting
Preferred
- Experience with insurance verification
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Experience working with children and families
- Interest in growing into advanced optical or clinical roles
