Description

Our Client, a Global Provider of Electronic Design and Test Solution company, is looking for an Optical Manufacturing Technician - Final Assembly for their Santa Clara, CA location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Follow optical cementing procedures to complete optic-to-optic and optic-to-metal assemblies
  • Assemble and align optics using custom, high-precision mechanical tooling and fixtures
  • Use optical test equipment (Fizeau interferometers, autocollimators, power meters, oscilloscopes, microscopes) to conduct both in-process and final testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Run test SW and applications and input test data into Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Proficient computer skills are required for this position.
  • Transport test and product fixtures weighing up to 40 lbs from storage to production areas and back.
  • Inspect and handle delicate and small precision optical components to prevent surface quality issues such as digs, chips and scratches
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience working in optical test and alignment, including troubleshooting and repair of optical systems.
  • Ability to work in a Class 1000 cleanroom.
  • Proficiency with optical tools and instruments including autocollimators and Fizeau interferometers.
  • Capable to lift heavy tooling up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong background working with computers including running technical applications, performing data entry into MS Excel and general Windows-based skillset (copy/paste files, etc).
  • Ability to work individually in a team setting with other technicians and engineers.
  • Ability to cross-train in a flexible manufacturing cell environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Strong understanding of optical principles and systems.
