    Optical Manager Opportunity


    Position Summary:


    We are seeking an experienced Optical Manager to lead our optical department. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model, demonstrating leadership and expertise in optical operations. The position requires proficiency in optical duties, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic team while ensuring a positive patient experience.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Opticianry Duties:

    • Assist patients in selecting eyewear with technical expertise.
    • Handle frame and lens measurements, order processing, and verification.
    • Manage eyewear inventory, including ordering and returns.
    • Provide customer service, including eyewear maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Stay updated on insurance guidelines and optical trends.


    Financial and Inventory Management:

    • Meet and exceed department goals for sales and inventory management.
    • Control costs by working with vendors and optimizing inventory levels.
    • Collaborate with lab managers to address lens cost concerns.
    • Monitor department budgets and conduct year-end inventory audits.


    Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Train and cross-train optical staff.
    • Manage staffing levels, schedules, and departmental issues.
    • Motivate and mentor the team to maintain high morale and efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities for improved processes and electronic system use.


    Customer Service:

    • Lead by example to ensure outstanding customer service.
    • Address and resolve customer complaints.
    • Monitor turnaround times and ensure timely delivery of eyewear.


    Meetings:

    • Attend and contribute to department and staff meetings.
    • Prepare and deliver educational content for staff on new products and protocols.
    • Foster open communication and encourage team participation.


    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; ABO certification desired.
    • Ongoing training in optical products and leadership skills.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in optical software and tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
