Optical / Lens Design Engineer

You’ll be part of a small ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT team that’s creating “custom optical solutions” for some of the most complex systems used in industry today. 

• Partner with customers to understand their specific needs and turn those requirements into a high-precision optical solution used in critical applications. 
• Be involved with multiple programs full life cycle: specification – conception – design – analysis – prototyping – testing – manufacturability – completion & delivery.
• Collaborate across multiple disciplines: metrology, controls, and mechanical packaging.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

• Experience with complex optical lens designs, including systems-level development & performance analysis.
• Imaging & illumination systems - Wavefront analysis, reflective/refractive, tolerance, fabrication methods, materials selection, polarization
• Fluent with optical analysis tools & software;  Code V, ZEMAX, Optics Studio, Light Tools, TracePro, ASAP, MATLAB, Macro Design, FRED
• BS - MS - PhD in a technical field: Optics /  Materials  /  Physics  /  Engineering etc.
• US Citizenship / Perm Resident
