A position for Dr Santoro’s laboratory as Research Associate (OPS) is available immediately in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. This position is specifically designed to aid with a clinical trial in allergic dogs.

Job Description:
  • Day-to-day research supports conducting telephone surveys with clients and providing updates. Accurately records and manages owner responses. Accurately schedules appointments and rechecks. Enter data into an online database platform (Prelude®), ensuring data integrity, completeness, and adherence to study protocol. Maintain and manage daily sample files in Excel, tracks outreach attempts and completion rates, monitors progress toward study project targets and ensures timely updates to project tracking system.
  • Assist with project planning, creating timelines, and data entry for project assignments. This includes multiple deliverables for projects, monitoring the progress of assigned tasks ensuring, barriers, to data collection are discussed, and action plans are created.
  • Managing databases and datasets and assure accurate data collection and entry.
  • Other duties as assigned  
Expected Salary:

$15.00 / hour

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
  • General computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to quickly and accurately enter structured data into a database form
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone
  • Experience conducting telephone surveys or providing telephone-based customer service experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to accurately store and process biological materials
  • Research experience with basic biological experiments
  • Ability to properly and safely restrain dogs
