Overview:

 

If you are enthusiastic about supporting project initiatives and have a knack for financial data analysis, the position of Operations Administrator is for you. Located in Enfield, CT, this position offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, two retirement plans, paid holidays, and paid time off.
This is a key role in Kinder Morgan’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) operations team. Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America.
In other organizations, this position would be known as Business Analyst, Budget Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar. This is a wonderful opportunity if you have finance and budgetary experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, insurance, manufacturing, or medical fields.

Responsibilities:

Provides dedicated, on-site administrative and business support to the Division and Technical Services organizations. Serves as a responsive internal service provided to supervisors and field personnel with responsibility for taking assigned administrative work from initial request through completion.
Leads the monthly financial process, in coordination with budget owners, for multi-million-dollar O&M and Capital budgets. Process includes monthly reporting of prior month variances and accruals at the account level and informing leadership on current month’s forecast figures. Must maintain budget tracking mechanisms to support budget owners reporting and tracking.
Conducts financial reporting and performs pivot-based analyses to produce content for basing financial decisions. Regularly analyzes and reviews requirements to improve efficiency of this process.
Prepares, processes, reviews, and/or assists with various operating initiatives to comply with Company and/or regulatory requirements. Responsibility may include fleet reporting, fuel reporting, Safety and Health updates and reporting, and other miscellaneous operations reports, as necessary.
Supports team by executing procurement and contracting agreements following all policies and ensuring compliance with established processes. Track purchase agreements through completion and maintains records to support financial reporting

Monitor administrative deadlines and approval workflows, proactively follow-up with responsible parties, communicate status, identify discrepancies, and escalate delays and other issues.
Become cross-trained on Division Coordinator responsibilities and provide backup coverage during absences and periods of increased workload.
Files and maintain various forms, reports, and correspondences according to company policies and applicable regulations. Assists supervision/management and other employees in maintaining files and reports.
Provide day-to-day Division office support, including receiving visitors, coordinating with vendors, ordering materials and assisting with keeping office activities moving.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:
Education: Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a science or technical field. Candidates with significant work-related experience and directly transferrable skills considered.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities: Familiar with security and safety protocols and maintains ability to assist in times of emergency response.
Demonstrates a strong team-oriented and service-focused approach by collaborating effectively, following instructions, willingly assisting others, sharing information, and taking ownership of administrative needs that support the success of the Division.
Strong computer skills (expected proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn proprietary applications). With advanced Excel skills such as data manipulation and analysis with pivot tables and pivot reports, efficiency-based Macro development, and data presentation through use of charts.
Demonstrated ownership and follow-through, including the ability to obtain missing information, coordinate approvals, track assignments, communicate status and carrying work through final completion.
Ability to build and manage document libraries in MS SharePoint.
Possess excellent skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving and reasoning and the ability to prepare and lead presentations.
Ability to evaluate business processes, identify improvements and propose changes accordingly.
Ability to perform in a trainer role to educate others on Company processes.
Capable of multi-tasking, managing numerous concurrent activities and working within deadlines.
Job level and pay grade will be commensurate with education, skills, and experience. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.
