Job Summary
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmology Technician to join our small ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will assist our physicians in delivering high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic testing, patient assessments, and clinical support tasks. A strong background in eye care and a compassionate approach to patient interaction are essential.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Greet patients and gather comprehensive patient medical history and document chief complaints
• Perform visual acuity testing, refractions, tonometry, OCT, fundus photography, and other diagnostic testing.
• Assist doctor during eye exams and in-office procedures, as needed
• Educate patients on procedures, treatments and post visit care.
• Administer eye drops of medcations as directed by physician
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times
• Maintains and calibrate diagnostic equiptment
• Accurately input data into EMR system
• Assist with patient flow and efficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in ophthalmology or optometry setting
• Certified as a COA, COT, or COMT is a plus
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite, EMR
• Proficient in ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (OCT, Visual Fields, etc)
