Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Biller

Seeking a dependable, bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Ophthalmic Tech and also a Front Desk Medical Biller to join our friendly Ophthalmic practice located in New York, NY

Ophthalmic Tech:

• Perform Ophthalmic Testing and patient work ups
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories
• Perform visual acuity, IP, OCT, visual fields, fundus photography and other diagnostic testing as needed.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician as needed

Medical Biller:

•  Handle medical billing, coding and insurance claims
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits 
• Obtain prior authorizations, when required
• Review claims for accuracy and follow up on denied and unpaid claims
• Post payments and assist with Accounts Receivable
• Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, insurance companies and coworkers.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations
