    Maynor & Mitchell Eye Center is a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-physician ophthalmology practice and one of North Alabama’s leading providers of eye care. Our team is united by a shared commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.

    We are currently seeking a positive, experienced, and energetic ophthalmic technician to join our growing team. Prior experience in an ophthalmology practice is preferred, and COA/COT certification and contact lens experience are a plus. Candidates selected for interviews will complete an onsite skills assessment. This position may require travel to satellite offices based on clinic needs.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform comprehensive patient work-ups, including medical and ocular history, chief complaint, visual acuities, lensometry, EOMs, pupil assessment, refraction, slit lamp exams, tonometry, and instillation of eye drops.

    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, and medications.

    • Accurately document in EHR systems and maintain computer proficiency.

    • Provide professional, courteous interaction with patients and coworkers.

    • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


    Preferred Skills and Qualities:

    • COA or COT certification (preferred, not required)

    • Experience with contact lens fitting

    • Proficient in manual refraction

    • High attention to detail and accuracy

    • Effective written and verbal communication

    • Strong initiative and adaptability to change

    • Consistent, compassionate care and a positive team presence
