WHO WE ARE
PAC is a leading global provider of advanced analytical instruments for laboratories and process environments in hydrocarbon processing industries. Customers choose PAC's instruments to provide the cutting-edge technology required to maintain regulatory compliance and to improve productivity.
YOUR ROLE
Under direct supervision, loads and operates polishing equipment and performs light mechanical assembly of heater tube products using hand tools, fixtures, and documented work instructions. Verifies part condition against defined quality standards and completes required production documentation.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:
- Build, wire, and test electromechanical sub-assemblies and finished products to drawings, schematics, and documented work instructions.
- Fabricate and install pneumatic tubing, fittings, regulators, valves, and manifolds; bend tubing from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch; perform leak checks and pressure verification to specification.
- Install and terminate wiring harnesses; perform soldering and de-soldering; verify continuity and point-to-point wiring against electrical schematics.
- Perform functional and final testing; troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults to the module or component level; document test results.
- Support new product introduction by assembling pilot and first-article units and providing structured feedback to Engineering on drawings, work instructions, and assembly methods.
- Rotate across multiple production lines as scheduling, product mix, and demand require.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration support for test fixtures and production equipment.
- Inspect incoming components and sub-assemblies from suppliers; label and properly handle nonconforming material.
- Use the ERP system to complete labor reporting, material transactions, and manufacturing and customer order steps.
- Submit engineering change requests and document process or drawing discrepancies as required.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to Technician I personnel.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
- Respond to change productively and perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Safety - Observes safety and security procedures; uses equipment, tooling, and materials properly; wears required personal protective equipment; reports unsafe conditions promptly.
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; follows work instructions, drawings, and test procedures; monitors own work to ensure quality; applies feedback to improve performance.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving - Isolates electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults methodically; gathers and analyzes information before acting; develops and evaluates alternative solutions; escalates appropriately when a problem exceeds scope.
- Technical Communication - Reads and interprets drawings, schematics, and flow diagrams accurately; documents test results, discrepancies, and change requests clearly and completely.
- Adaptability - Adapts to changes in schedule, product mix, and line assignment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation.
- Teamwork - Works effectively across lines, shifts, and functions; welcomes feedback; shares knowledge with and trains less experienced technicians; supports the success of the team.
- Initiative - Identifies improvement opportunities in assembly and test methods; undertakes self-development activities; takes ownership of assigned work without prompting.
- Dependability - Follows instructions and responds to management direction; is consistently at work and on time; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- (U.S.) Two-year technical degree in electronics, electromechanical technology, instrumentation, or a related field preferred. Equivalent military technical training or completed trade apprenticeship will be considered in place of a degree.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly, instrumentation, test, or field service, including demonstrated pneumatic and electrical work.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and process flow diagrams.
- Pneumatic systems experience, including compression and tube fittings, regulators, solenoid and manual valves, flow controllers, and leak detection methods.
- Electrical experience, including harness building, terminations, soldering and de-soldering, and the use of a digital multimeter and basic electronic test equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems to the module level. Circuit board troubleshooting to the component level is a plus.
- Tube bending from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch tubing.
- Ability to operate electric and pneumatic hand tools safely and correctly.
- Working knowledge of PC applications, Microsoft Office, and ERP transaction entry.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and test instructions, maintenance procedures, and procedure manuals.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to interpret pressure, flow, and electrical units of measure.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to work from incomplete or evolving documentation during new product builds.
