    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications

    • Possess a valid driver's license
    • Level II certification in Wastewater
    • A minimum of two years of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants
    • Interview and work location: 100 Industrial Park Loop SE Rio Rancho NM 87124
    • Digital literacy

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of wastewater treatment plant operations, operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical wastewater analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in water treatment processes; principles of supervision and training; and safe work practices
    • Ability to respond to pages in a timely manner as requested by management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Operates, performs minor repairs, and maintains the wastewater treatment plant facility.
    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Perform any combinations of tasks pertinent to controlling operations of the wastewater treatment plant
    • Operates pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and processing of influent and effluent, sludge
    • Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
    • Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings
    • Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
    • Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
    • Takes samples and performs laboratory tests and analyses
    • Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
    • Makes operating decisions/recommendations in a group setting with other personnel
    • Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures
    • Follows written and oral instructions
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Respond to critical callouts and emergencies as requested
