Packaging Machine Operator
Classification: Hourly
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Shift: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM (Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule)
Hourly Base Pay Range: $24.00-$27.00 per hour.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking experienced machine operators with backgrounds in:
- Packaging manufacturing
- Printing
- Converting
- Industrial production equipment
- Automated manufacturing environments
Required:
- Minimum 1 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing, packaging, printing, converting, or industrial production environment
- Experience with machine setups, changeovers, and equipment adjustments
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience and strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to monitor product quality and machine performance
Preferred:
- Experience operating Jenner Jahn equipment
- Packaging, printing, or converting experience
- Experience training or mentoring other operators

Summary of Job
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Jenner Jahn equipment to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role performs machine setups, product changeovers, troubleshooting, quality checks, and basic preventative maintenance while supporting production goals and customer requirements.

Overview
The Operator II is responsible for safely operating Jenner Jahn equipment while maintaining company standards for quality, productivity, waste, and safety. This position plays a key role in meeting customer requirements and production schedules while supporting continuous improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Operate Jenner Jahn machinery safely and efficiently while meeting production and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, product quality, and production output throughout the shift.
- Perform machine setups, adjustments, and product changeovers as required.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist in training and mentoring new operators as needed.
- Communicate production issues, downtime, material needs, and equipment concerns to leadership.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and varying temperatures.

- Noise levels may exceed 85 dB.
- Heat and humidity levels may vary.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, experience, and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package.
The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $24.00-$27.00 per hour.
