Position Overview
This is an
ESD manufacturing environment not a clean room. The role involves assembly and/or packaging of capital equipment (similar to computers). The Operator I is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices and equipment. Working under close supervision, this person may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on capital equipment such as computers and generators.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine assignments according to specified and/or standardized procedures; work is closely and continually reviewed.
- Ensure relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain accurate records so travelers and quality documents are correct, all parts are traceable, and quality issues can be addressed.
- Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management, both written and verbal.
- Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during all operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and meet quality and profitability metrics.
- Work with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.
- Support divisional initiatives in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a positive attitude with internal and external customers, including facility tours.
Required Qualifications- English communication (written and verbal) and color recognition.
- Commitment to 40 hours/week with no absences in the first 30 days.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures, and understand verbal instructions.
- Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Ability to prioritize work by sequencing and timing jobs based on precedence and importance.
- Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience following manufacturing processes; ERP experience preferred.
- Background in medical device or other regulated environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
