Working under close supervision, the operator may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Not Permitted: Short shirts (above the navel), sleeveless tops, pants/skirts above the ankle, skirts with slits, or loose-fitting clothing near machinery/soldering equipment.

This position is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the operator may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures, with work closely and continually reviewed.
• Ensure that all job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up to date.
• Clearly communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of manufacturing management, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors (e.g., facility tours).
• Follow all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices during all operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure travelers, quality documents, and parts are fully traceable, and that quality issues can be promptly addressed.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics focused on operational quality.
• Support all Divisional initiatives, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills
Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures, and understand verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
• Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of tasks based on precedence and importance.
• Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts with precision.
• Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.

Manufacturing Area Dress Code & Appearance Policy
Please note: This dress code applies to the production floor during both the interview tour and regular employment. Non-compliance will prevent access to the production area.
General Attire:

• All clothing (from the waist up) must fit completely under the lab coat/gown.
• Turtlenecks or high-necked clothing must not extend above the lab coat neckline.
• Sleeves must not extend beyond the lab coat cuffs.
• Torsos, upper arms, and legs must be fully covered.
• Not Permitted: Short shirts (above the navel), sleeveless tops, pants/skirts above the ankle, skirts with slits, or loose-fitting clothing near machinery/soldering equipment.

Fabric & Shedding Restrictions:

• Clothing must be non-shedding and free of frayed hems, loose threads, tassels, fringes, glitter, or sequins (sewn or glued).
• Fabric test: Pull fabric tightly with fingers; if fibers dislodge, the garment is not allowed.
• Not Permitted: Sweaters, sweater vests, loose-fiber garments, loose knits, or fleece.

Footwear:

• Shoes must be worn at all times. Stockings or socks are required.
• Heel must not be pointed or exceed 2 inches in height.
• Not Permitted: Sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe, open-heel, or shoes with straps/weave that expose toes.
• Changing shoes in the production area (outside the gowning room) is not allowed.

Headwear & Personal Items:

• Caps, hats, scarves, or bandanas are not allowed under the bouffant hairnet.
• Religious accommodation: Head wraps/scarves must be fully covered by the bouffant; the tail end must be tucked under the lab coat. Fabric must be tightly woven, clean, and laundered.

Jewelry, Makeup, & Personal Care:

• Not Permitted: Jewelry or body piercings that could pierce gloves or cannot be fully covered by gowning materials.
• Not Permitted: Nail polish, acrylic, artificial nails, or similar coatings.
• Not Permitted: Makeup or scented personal products (except deodorant).
• Permitted: Lip balm in stick form (apply only outside production areas, prior to hand washing).
• Not Permitted: Lotions applied after hand washing.

Health & Safety:

• Cover any open or bleeding wounds with a bandage.
• Do not wear any clothing or accessories that could be considered offensive.
