JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Team Lead serves as the primary operational resource between frontline team members and management. This position provides guidance, workflow coordination, issue resolution, and operational support to ensure the efficient execution of transportation services. The role may support specific operational functions including dispatch, customer service, driver management, shipment tracking, load planning, capacity management, and extended-hours operations. The Operations Team Lead acts as a subject matter expert and provides daily leadership while supporting operational continuity and service excellence.
Please note this position is on-site at Stevens Transport HQ in Dallas, Tx.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
Provide guidance and daily support to team members.
Assist with workload balancing and task assignment.
Support employee development through coaching and mentoring.
Escalate employee conduct concerns to management.
Operations Management
Monitor transportation operations and service execution.
Identify and resolve operational disruptions.
Coordinate internal and external communications.
Support load planning and capacity management activities.
Customer & Driver Support
Serve as an escalation point for service-related issues.
Provide timely communication regarding shipment status.
Support driver and customer needs as .
Process Improvement
Identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
Support pilot programs and special projects.
Generate operational and ad hoc reporting.
Coverage & Continuity
Perform functions of frontline operational positions as needed.
Maintain workflow continuity during staffing shortages or high-volume periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
2-4 years transportation, logistics, or fleet operations experience.
Working knowledge of DOT and Hours of Service regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
Experience leading transportation or logistics teams.
Knowledge of AS400.
Experience in fleet operations, dispatch, driver management, or customer operations.
