    This role is responsible for identifying, investigating, reporting and solving funeral home and cemetery processing problems related to the performance of business operations. The position compiles SOX assessment reports, implements financial reclassifications, initiates on-demand modeling, and conducts analysis and research. This position provides project support for Finance Managers and Financial Analysts across various Operations Support teams.

    OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administer the Field Finance Support mailbox answering inquiries about transactions processes or policies.
    • Funeral home and cemetery transaction oversight and analysis to ensure understanding, accuracy and to identify process improvement opportunities
    • Answer and address configuration of location comparability status, location operating status and location roll-up structure (Mega, Market, Territory, BU and Division)
    • Provide administrative support for our Cemetery Flower Placement program, which includes answering e-mails from location associates about placement orders.
    • As needed provide light tough financial statement training or answer questions for new Location Managers or General Managers
    • Assists in creating reports and analysis for monthly reporting and dashboards
    • Compiles/Develops SOX assessment quarterly reports and analysis
    • Investigate and resolve issues with security access to systems and reports

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Analytics

    Experience

    • Six (6) years related work experience
    • SOX compliance experience
    • Funeral industry experience a plus

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Project Management knowledge
    • SQL Reporting skills
    • Process improvement skills
    • Working knowledge of financial and general accounting concepts
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Ability to present complex analyses in a clear, concise, simplified manner to stakeholders

    Work Environment

    • Work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions
    • Comply with Corporate dress code policy

    • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
    • May climb stairs to access buildings

    Physical Demands

    • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
