Here is what you will be doing:
Ensure all employees follow proper safety rules and operating proceduresConduct daily audits of the overhead bridge crane and DCUIssue frequent work orders to ensure the system is properly maintainedCoordinate communications to third parties involvedRespond to any unsafe or out of place event or condition immediatelyComplete and file all necessary documentation as required including JHA's, SHAPS, permits, log entries, safety meetings, audit sheets, daily check sheetsAssist in training of employeesConduct and document frequent Safety and toolbox meetingsMaintain company objectives and expectations in the absence of the Operations ManagerWork closely with Operations to keep production levels high, systems
Requirements of a successful Operations Supervisor:
In person interviews require the candidate to be clean shaven, no exceptionsExtensive knowledge of crane, coke unit, and heavy equipmentExperience in rail and rail car movementsExperience in bulk materials, conveyor systems and heavy equipmentExperience interacting with an hourly, salary and client based workforceProven ability to focus on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedulesMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurersExperience with OSHA guidelines, policies, and proceduresHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExcellent communication skills - both oral and writtenExcellent organizational skillsEfficient with standard office software programs (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, Managers Plus)Must be able to multi-task and set prioritiesAbility to manage confidential issues

Must have the ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position:Work in an environment containing coal dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environmentsWork at heights , climbing stairs, and climbing laddersWalk on uneven ground and up to 3 miles per shiftMust have ability to wear required PPRMust be able to pass a fit test and pulmonary function test for the purposes of wearing a respirator and recertify annually or as neededLift up to 50 pounds frequently
