Operations Specialist
To perform work in support of airfield airside and landside operations while maintaining a 24-hour Airport Operations Center (AOC)
The employee will have the responsibility of:
- Monitoring the Energy Management System (EMS), air traffic control tower and ground radio communications, fire enunciator panel, closed television cameras (CCTV), Access Control System, alarms, and responding as required
- Maintaining Airport Access Control System to include issuing identification (ID) badges, auditing files and access media for correct information and updating and renewing access
- Acting as duty airport manager on shift basis
- Maintaining security logs, emergency phone alert lists, emergency checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Coordinating with Robert Gray Army Airfield (RGAAF) Operations to publish NOTAMs and updates for the advisory system
- Conducting airside FAA Part 139 inspections and landside inspections
- Processing Prior Permission Request (PPR)
- Processing fingerprints and TSA Security Threat Assessments (STA)
The work environment will require the employee to:
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Work near high noise level when working near aircraft levels and may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, aircraft fuel fumes, and moving mechanical parts

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent; and
- One (1) year progressively responsible related experience required; or
- Two (2) year college education with major course work in aviation management or closely related field preferred; or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements:
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license by date-of-hire
- Employee must pass a fingerprint-based FBI background check by date-of-hire.
- Employee must pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) by date-of-hire.
- An FAA issued dispatcher's license or equivalent military aviation experience is desirable.
- Must be able to work any shift or hours assigned, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Employee's residence must be within 30 minutes driving time from the Killeen City
