Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, you will serve as the engine of our operations—bridging sales, field technicians, fabrication, and administration to drive profitability, project quality, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Operational Leadership & Workflow Management

    • Oversee day-to-day operations across shop fabrication, job site installations, scheduling, and logistics.
    • Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to boost productivity, minimize job site delays, and lower operational waste.
    • Coordinate cross-functional handoffs between estimating, procurement, shop fabrication, and field crews.
    2. Team Management & Field Supervision
    • Lead, mentor, and supervise shop craftspeople, field installers, and administrative staff (4-5 direct reports/ 15-20 indirect reports).
    • Manage daily field schedules, crew assignments, and equipment/truck allocation to ensure optimal labor utilization.
    • Enforce safety protocols, OSHA compliance, and proper site safety standards across all active jobs.
    3. Project Delivery, Scheduling & Logistics
    • Monitor project timelines from job award through final installation and punch-list completion.
    • Manage inventory levels, glass/hardware purchasing, lead times, and supplier relationships to eliminate job site waiting time.
    • Conduct regular site visits to inspect quality of work, resolve field issues, and ensure client expectations are met.
    4. Financial & P&L Oversight
    • Partner with the Owner to track job profitability, labor variance, and project margins.
    • Review cost estimates against actual job performance to continuously improve estimating accuracy.
    • Oversee fleet maintenance, equipment servicing, and shop inventory expense controls.

    Qualifications & Requirements
    • Experience: 5+ years of operational management experience in specialty trade contracting, building materials, glazier services, or commercial/residential construction.
    • Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in glass, glazing, aluminum storefronts, or architectural metal work is strongly preferred.
    • Leadership: Proven track record of managing crews of 10–25 field/shop personnel with an emphasis on accountability and positive work culture.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency with operational and scheduling software (e.g., Jobber, Procore, Buildertrend, or glass-specific ERPs like SmartGlazier/Glaziers Studio), MS Excel, and project tracking tools.
    • Problem Solving: Exceptional logistics and conflict-resolution skills under tight project deadlines.
    • Certifications: Valid Driver's License required; OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
