We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day installation and service operations for a commercial access and low-voltage systems business. This position will lead field operations, project execution, service delivery, scheduling, team performance, quality, safety, and financial performance.
The Operations Manager will work through project managers, lead technicians, service personnel, and support staff while ensuring projects and service work are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.
Lead installation and service operations across gate systems, access control, overhead doors, IP video/CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
Manage and develop project managers, technicians, and service personnel.
Oversee project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, materials, and execution across multiple concurrent projects and service calls.
Monitor project performance, job costs, budgets, change orders, subcontractor expenses, and service profitability.
Identify potential project delays, resource constraints, and operational issues and take corrective action.
Oversee emergency service operations and ensure appropriate technician response and dispatch.
Manage parts and materials inventory to support installation and service needs.
Recruit, hire, train, and develop field technicians and project management personnel.
Conduct field inspections and ensure workmanship, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, low-voltage electrical codes, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
Serve as an escalation point for complex service issues, warranty claims, and client concerns.
Maintain communication with management regarding project status, service performance, and operational and financial KPIs.
5+ years of progressive experience in operations, project management, engineering, service management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing field technicians, project managers, or service teams.
Knowledge of gate operators, barrier systems, access control platforms, CCTV/IP video, overhead door systems, and related low-voltage systems.
Understanding of NEC low-voltage electrical codes, OSHA requirements, and applicable building codes.
Experience managing project budgets, job costs, change orders, inventory, and subcontractor relationships.
Experience with field service/dispatch systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple projects, service demands, and operational priorities simultaneously.
Ability to lead field teams while maintaining communication with clients and internal leadership.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Low-voltage electrical license or relevant industry certifications such as NICET or manufacturer certifications.
Experience with GPS-based fleet dispatch and technician routing systems.
Familiarity with parking management systems and commercial/municipal access infrastructure.
