***Summary:
This is a high-visibility operations leadership opportunity within a well-established precision manufacturing client backed by a larger organization. The Operations Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the Wheeling operation, partnering closely with the President to strengthen execution, solve operational problems, and move the facility forward.
The position is designed for a leader who wants room to operate. Rather than simply maintaining an existing system, this person will have meaningful autonomy to evaluate how work gets done, establish priorities, improve accountability, and introduce changes that positively affect safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and overall plant performance.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Direct access to the President and substantial visibility within the business.
- A genuine opportunity to become the President's right hand for the Wheeling operation.
- High degree of autonomy to make decisions and shape how the facility operates.
- Beautiful, modern manufacturing environment supporting sophisticated precision-machined products.
- Backing and resources of a larger manufacturing organization, with potential exposure to opportunities across multiple sites.
- Established customer presence in aerospace and medical device manufacturing.
- An operation where leadership wants improvement and gives the Operations Manager the latitude to make it happen.
- $145,000-$160,000 base salary plus bonus opportunity.
What You Will Own:
- Lead daily manufacturing activity across a precision CNC machining environment, keeping production priorities aligned with customer commitments and business objectives.
- Serve as a key operational partner to the President and become a trusted right-hand leader for the Wheeling facility.
- Provide direction to production leadership and shop-floor teams while building clear expectations around performance, communication, and follow-through.
- Evaluate workflow, capacity, labor utilization, scheduling, equipment constraints, and other operating conditions that influence throughput and on-time delivery.
- Drive practical improvements throughout the operation rather than relying on a 'this is how we have always done it' mindset.
- Work across production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and other functions to remove roadblocks and keep customer programs moving.
- Use operating metrics and shop-floor visibility to identify recurring issues, determine root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Reinforce a culture centered on safety, quality, ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.
