The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of manufacturing operations within a hydraulic component production environment. This role ensures efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager will oversee machining processes, production planning, and cross-functional coordination to meet customer demand and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations, including machining, assembly, and production support functions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and process mapping tools
  • Develop and implement standardized work, process flows, and operational best practices
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met
  • Identify and eliminate waste across processes, improving efficiency and throughput
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize production performance
  • Oversee capacity planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet production demands
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production teams to build a high-performance culture
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and improve profitability through operational excellence
  • Support new product introductions and process validations within machining environments
  • Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in hydraulic components or precision machining
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, metal fabrication, and production processes
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and process mapping
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools
  • Ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, and make strategic decisions
