Quality Services Moving is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our local dispatch and field operations. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily movement of crews, drivers, vehicles, equipment, and jobs while ensuring work is properly staffed, scheduled, and executed.
The Operations Manager serves as the link between local dispatch, field crews, drivers, customers, and company leadership. The role requires someone who can see the entire day's operation, anticipate problems, make quick decisions, and keep the team moving when plans change.
This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced moving environment. The right candidate is organized, decisive, and comfortable managing people while staying closely connected to what is happening in the field.
What You'll Manage
Local Dispatch & Scheduling
- Oversee daily local dispatch operations and job assignments
- Coordinate movers, crew leaders, drivers, vehicles, and equipment
- Review daily and upcoming schedules to ensure proper staffing and coverage
- Adjust assignments throughout the day based on changing conditions
- Coordinate call-outs, schedule changes, delays, and last-minute coverage needs
- Maintain clear communication between dispatch and field personnel
- Ensure crews have accurate job information and the resources needed to perform
Field Operations
- Monitor the progress of local jobs throughout the day
- Stay informed on crew locations, job status, delays, and operational issues
- Work with crew leaders and drivers to keep jobs on schedule
- Respond to operational problems and determine the appropriate solution
- Coordinate additional resources when a job requires support
- Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and crews are properly utilized
- Help maintain safe, professional, and efficient field operations
Team Leadership
- Supervise local drivers, movers, crew leaders, and dispatch personnel
- Set clear expectations for attendance, productivity, communication, and customer service
- Coach employees and address performance concerns
- Hold team members accountable for following company procedures
- Support training and development of dispatch and field personnel
- Build a dependable team that can execute consistently under pressure
Operational Performance
- Monitor daily productivity, staffing levels, job completion, and labor utilization
- Identify recurring scheduling and operational problems
- Improve dispatch procedures, communication, and workflow
- Look for ways to reduce downtime and improve crew utilization
- Work with leadership to address operational challenges and improve performance
- Ensure local operations are prepared for the following day's workload
Customer & Service Issues
- Assist with escalated customer concerns related to scheduling or field service
- Coordinate solutions when delays or operational issues affect customers
- Keep customers and internal teams informed when plans change
- Help ensure customer commitments are met professionally and efficiently

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, operations, logistics, transportation, moving, field service, or a related environment
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Experience coordinating employees, schedules, routes, crews, or field resources
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable making independent decisions
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work early starts and overtime when operationally necessary

- Household goods or moving industry
