This role supports the Associate Vice President of Teaching and Learning (AVPTL) by supporting contract lifecycle management, operational workflows, and data-driven process improvements across multiple academic divisions. The role supports the administration and compliance of faculty contracts, stipends, and additional assignments through centralized systems, ensuring alignment with institutional policies, union agreements, and regulatory requirements. An operations manager and executive assistant to the AVPTL must be a resourceful, detail-oriented, high-performing self-starter with the capacity to interact and engage with divisional leadership, faculty, and staff in an active and high-demand environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is organized, collaborative, flexible, and team oriented.
This position serves as a key liaison between leadership, faculty, and divisional staff, driving workflow efficiency, ensuring data integrity, and supporting operational decision making. The role exercises independent judgment in managing high-volume contract processes, optimizing systems, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance effectiveness, compliance, and scalability.

Howard Community College offers competitive salaries, excellent medical and dental selections, tuition reimbursement and paid leave programs. As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
