    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Job Description:

    The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is recruiting for an Operations Manager. This position provides operational leadership for equipment management and maintenance, oversight of Small Animal Hospital Facilities Team, and coordination of minor projects across the UF Veterinary Hospitals. This position oversees equipment lifecycle management, preventive maintenance programs, purchasing and capital planning, service contracts, and vendor relationship management. Success in this position requires strong leadership, financial stewardship, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills to endure a safe, compliant, and efficient clinical environment.  

    Critical competencies for this position include analytical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities. Knowledge of state and university purchasing and procurement guidelines is preferred. 

    This position requires a post-offer health assessment and background check.

    Expected Salary:

    Salary based on education and experience

    Required Qualifications 

    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred

    • Knowledge and experience working in a clinical veterinary environment 
    • Budget management experience
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
    • Experience with project and construction budgets, working with UF PD&C, and project planning systems
