Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client, a distinguished organization specializing in valuable property and collectibles. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee daily operations, guide a dedicated team, and ensure the safe and efficient movement of high-value and fragile property.

This is a full-time, direct-hire, fully onsite position in Beverly Hills, California.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will supervise a team of approximately 7 to 10 employees responsible for shipping, packing, inventory, and property coordination. This leader will manage daily workflows while remaining actively involved in organizing storage areas, coordinating truck logistics, handling property, and supporting the team when additional coverage is needed.

During the first 90 days, the Operations Manager will focus on learning the organization's processes, culture, and operational needs. From there, they will thoughtfully implement improvements that strengthen efficiency, organization, safety, and service quality.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supervise, train, and support a team of 7 to 10 operations employees.
  • Plan and manage the processing, storage, packing, and shipment of valuable property.
  • Coordinate daily logistics, including truck arrivals, loading, unloading, and interoffice shipments.
  • Oversee property entry, tagging, verification, inventory control, and final disposition.
  • Ensure property can be accurately located and retrieved throughout the operational process.
  • Establish appropriate storage locations for property awaiting photography, cataloging, shipment, return, or another disposition.
  • Maintain an efficient flow of property between operations staff and other internal departments.
  • Oversee the safe handling, packing, unpacking, and movement of fragile and high-value items.
  • Train employees on property handling, packing, moving, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain organized, secure, and orderly storage and work areas.
  • Manage packing materials, crates, display materials, equipment, and operational supplies.
  • Coordinate workflows, schedules, inventory, and staffing coverage.
  • Step in and assist with physical operations when additional support is needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, storage, inventory controls, safety, and security.
  • Resolve operational issues and respond professionally to internal and client concerns.
  • Prepare productivity and operational reports for management.
  • Support office relocations and other special projects as needed.

What You Bring

  • Two to five years of experience supervising or managing employees.
  • Experience in operations, logistics, fine-art services, museums, galleries, luxury goods, collectibles, moving, shipping, or another environment involving valuable property.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, packing, storage, shipping, and workflow coordination.
  • A leadership style that balances strategic oversight with a willingness to work alongside the team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and respect for the safe handling of valuable and fragile items.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory or operational systems.
  • Bachelor's degree, military training, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and safely perform physical operational work.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, when operational needs require it.
  • Spanish-language skills are a plus.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 annually
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Location: Beverly Hills, California
  • Work arrangement: Fully onsite
  • Occasional schedule flexibility may be required for shipments, projects, and other operational needs.
