Motive Workforce is partnering with an innovative energy technology company to hire an experienced Operations Engineer to support the deployment, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS).
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems in the field. You'll work directly with customers while collaborating with engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability. If you're comfortable working independently, troubleshooting power systems, and supporting critical energy infrastructure, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate fleet deployment, scheduling, dispatch, and retrieval of mobile energy systems.
- Perform commissioning, startup, and operational testing of battery energy storage systems.
- Verify electrical connections, grounding, and site readiness before system startup.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize fleet uptime.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, battery, and power electronics issues in the field.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for customer support and field operations.
- Operate and validate system controls, operating modes, and state transitions.
- Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and performance data.
- Communicate technical findings and status updates with customers and internal engineering teams.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation.
- Travel to customer sites throughout the region as needed. (up to 50%)
