Lead the Team. Drive Growth. Make an Impact.

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Director (OD) to lead the overall operations, growth, and performance of one of our locations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing teams, and knows how to balance people, performance, growth, and operational excellence.

As the Operations Director, you’ll serve as the leader of your branch, partnering closely with clinical, operational, recruiting, and business development teams to ensure we deliver exceptional care while meeting growth and financial goals.

    What You’ll Do

    Lead & Develop Your Team

    • Lead, coach, and support a high-performing branch team.

    • Recruit and retain qualified staff.

    • Establish goals, monitor performance, and complete timely performance evaluations.

    • Promote employee development, accountability, and strong communication.

    • Partner with area and regional leadership to keep branch priorities aligned with organizational goals.

    Drive Branch Growth

    • Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and expand patient services.

    • Maintain a strong sense of urgency around referrals, admissions, and start-of-care timelines.

    • Partner with business development and referral sources to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.

    • Monitor the referral pipeline and address barriers that could delay patient care.

    Build Strong Relationships

    • Develop trusted relationships with patients, families, caregivers, referral partners, and community partners.

    • Support patient introductions and periodic home visits when needed.

    • Follow up on satisfaction surveys and identify opportunities to improve the patient and caregiver experience.

    • Serve as an advocate and trusted leader for your branch team.

    Own Operational & Financial Performance

    • Monitor branch performance, staffing, productivity, revenue, billing, collections, and expenses.

    • Review financial statements and operational reports to identify trends and opportunities.

    • Identify ways to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and strengthen branch performance.

    • Oversee caregiver staffing and ensure service delivery expectations are consistently met.

    Maintain Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure the branch operates in accordance with company policies, payor requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.

    • Partner with clinical leadership to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary.

    • Monitor key performance indicators to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.

    • Promote a culture centered on accountability, compliance, service excellence, and quality patient care.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Associate degree or equivalent related work experience required.

    • 2–3 years of management or leadership experience.

    • Strong leadership and staff-development skills.

    • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.

    • Ability to make confident decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

    • Ability to remain professional and composed in challenging situations.

    • Must meet all applicable state requirements, including background checks and work authorization requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree.

    • Healthcare leadership or operations experience.

    • Pediatric or home healthcare experience.

    Additional Requirements

    • Ability to travel as needed.

    • Ability to work in a variety of home and healthcare environments.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

    • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

    • Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
