Operations Compliance Specialist I

Location: Vandalia, OH 45377
Employment Type: 1‑year contract (with potential extension or permanent hire based on performance and experience)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Experience Level: Entry‑level (0–2 years)


About the Role

Are you looking to grow your analytical and critical‑thinking skills in a highly regulated environment? As an Operations Compliance Specialist I, you will support internal auditing and compliance assessment activities to ensure adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and internal policies.

In this role, you will gain hands‑on exposure to audit processes, data analysis, and compliance documentation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. This position is ideal for candidates early in their compliance or audit careers who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a structured and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting internal audits to evaluate compliance with FAR/DFAR and internal procedures
  • Review and analyze operational and compliance data to identify deficiencies, inaccuracies, or risks
  • Document audit findings and prepare clear, detailed reports for management review
  • Support corrective action plans to address identified compliance gaps
  • Maintain and update audit documentation, procedures, and records
  • Collaborate with internal departments to collect and validate audit-related information
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit and compliance processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • In the absence of a degree, 4+ years of relevant compliance, audit, or regulatory experience
  • Basic understanding of FAR/DFAR regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Familiarity with audit procedures, documentation, and data review

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or early professional experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
  • Background in the Aerospace & Defense industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military
  • Experience working with compliance tools, audit software, or enterprise databases
  • Strong written communication skills for report preparation

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent practical experience)
