Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees daily operations and ensures all Company processes and procedures are being followedCreates, evaluates and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policiesOperates Company vehicles in accordance with Risk & Safety policies; is familiar with and abides by traffic laws governing the operation of emergency response vehiclesCompletes all appropriate documentation as outlined in Company policy.Fosters and maintains cooperative working relationships with peers, facility staff and public safety personnel.Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staffAs necessary, the Operations Chief will have to get on the truck to complete callsFosters and maintains excellent working relationships with all internal and external facility staffEstablishes and enforces policies and procedures that promote company culture and visionConducts self in a professional manner in accordance with the Companys Standards of Conduct policyMaintains punctual and regular attendanceWorks alongside HR to maintain the company's recruitment and retention programManages and ensures the Plan of Action (POA) is reviewed daily to ensure efficiencies and staffing is completeManages supervisors and ensures all their duties are completed effectively and efficientlyEnsures all attendance points and disciplinary actions are completed alongside supervisorsWork with dispatch team and dispatch supervisor on any issues regarding calls, patient issues and crew member issues.Prepares and analyzes operational and management reports (KPI)Budgeting for operations, truck maintenance, supplies, etc.Ensures compliance with OEMS guidelines and handles all OEMS inspections and works alongside management on DEA inspections.Runs company meetings and other meetings as neededConducts disciplinary and other sensitive personnel meetings, as neededConducts interviews and is involved with the hiring and training process of new personnelHandles any patient or facility concerns and visits patient and facilities check-ins alongside supervisorsAnswers important phone calls after hours from Supervisors and crew membersPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & License/Certification:
Must have a high school diploma or GEDMust have a clean background and ability to pass a drug screenEffective oral and written communication skills; strong listening and comprehension abilities, adaptability to quickly evolving situations, and strong decision making.State of Virginia EMT-B and National Registry EMT-B Certification (Required)CPR Certification (Required)Valid Drivers License and clean driving record (Required)5 years of EMT or Paramedic experience in the healthcare field (Required)2 years of management or leadership experience (Required)EVOC (Required)
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, extended workdays.Long periods inside the ambulance.May work indoors or outdoors with exposure to weather.Possible routine exposure to moderate noise levels.May periodically work in poorly lit environments in a moving vehicle
Physical Demands:
Moderate to extended amounts of sitting, standing, and walking.Some repetitive motion activities.Routinely lifting more than 300 lbs on a stretcher with assistance.Pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying, typing and stair climbing.Visual identification of color-coded items.Clear speech and hearing.Must be able to wear a face mask or respirator with proper fit for extended periods when required
