POSITION SUMMARYNorth Point Trust Company is looking for an Operations Assistant to support the trust operations team in the day-to-day administration of client accounts, entity records, and payment processing across a portfolio of trust-held entities and custodial accounts. This role is well suited to someone with 1-3 years of experience in financial services, trust operations, banking, paralegal support, or a related administrative role. Prior industry experience is preferred but not required; the ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with financial and legal documentation, and able to follow established procedures with precision while flagging exceptions appropriately.WHAT YOU'LL DOPayment & Transaction ProcessingProcess checks, wires, and ACH transactions in accordance with established dual-control procedures.Prepare and route payment requests for review and approval.Maintain accurate wire and payment logs, and support daily reconciliation activities.Assist with bank reconciliations across custodial and operating accounts.Entity & Account AdministrationMaintain and update entity records for LLCs and other trust-held entities, including status tracking.Track and support timely filing of franchise taxes and annual reports with applicable Secretary of State offices.General Operations SupportSupport invoicing and billing processes for client entities.Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for account documentation.Help maintain and improve operational checklists, trackers, and workflow documentation.Provide backup support for other operations functions as needed.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOREducationNo specific degree is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred, but candidates with equivalent relevant experience are welcome to apply.Experience & Skills1-3 years of experience in financial services, trust operations, banking, paralegal support, or a related administrative role is preferred; the team will provide training on internal systems and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with comfort learning internal systems and software.Familiarity with trust administration, entity management, or corporate compliance filings is a plus, as is exposure to wire/ACH processing, dual-control payment environments, or Secretary of State filing and registered agent systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines simultaneously, with the discretion to handle confidential and sensitive financial information appropriately.KEY COMPETENCIESAttention to Detail - Works accurately with numbers, dates, and legal or compliance deadlines, and flags exceptions appropriately rather than letting them slip through.Discretion & Trustworthiness - Handles confidential client, entity, and financial information with judgment and care.Organization & Follow-Through - Keeps a portfolio of recurring deadlines, filings, and reconciliations on track without close supervision.Process Discipline - Follows established dual-control and compliance procedures with precision.Initiative & Team Support - Pitches in on other operations functions as needed and helps improve checklists, trackers, and workflow documentation.SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSFull-time, on-site position based in Rapid City, South Dakota.Salary range of $60,000-$63,000.Monthly benefit stipend, which employees may apply toward optional medical and dental plan enrollment.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYNorth Point Trust Company is an equal opportunity employer.
