BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Part-Time/No Benefits, work is scheduled as needed for events.

The purpose of this position is to assist the Facilities and Operations Manager while performing a variety of general maintenance work which contributes to the upkeep and care of the Multi-Purpose Event Center (MPEC) facilities. This is accomplished by maintaining the appearance and safety of the grounds; cleaning in and around all buildings and areas, ensuring the readiness for use; maintaining the appearance, safety and efficiency of facility areas; ensuring client specifications for events are met, event setup and tear-down, and performing other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice.

2 S Cleaning of buildings. Sweeps and mops floors, dusts and cleans offices, meeting rooms and other work areas; strips, waxes and polishes floors; polishes furniture; collects and removes waste; washes walls and windows; cleans rest rooms and replenishes supplies; unstops sinks and toilets; reports the need for minor repairs and changes light bulbs; moves furniture and equipment, cleans carpets.

4 S Maintains proper organization, storage and cleanliness or equipment and service pieces. Maintains a sanitary and safe workplace by conforming to MPEC Best Practices

5 S Determines and coordinates special needs of clients through on-going communication and meetings with MPEC leadership. Maintains open communication with facility management regarding products and the wants and needs of clients.

6 S Completes administrative tasks by completing routine and special assignments which could include delivering parts, equipment and supplies to crews, assisting in the storeroom, and picking up and delivering mail.

7 S Ensure that all operations staff receive the necessary information to safely and effectively maintain all facilities and ensure the successful completion of all events.

JOB CLASSIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Education Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
