    Operating Room Lead Nurse (RN) – San Diego, CA

     

    A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Operating Room Lead Nurse (RN) to support surgical services operations while providing clinical leadership to perioperative staff. This role combines direct patient care, team coordination, and operational oversight within a fast-paced surgical environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate daily patient care activities within the operating room

    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to perioperative nursing staff

    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient surgical workflows

    • Review surgical schedules and assist with procedural planning and resource allocation

    • Coordinate the availability of supplies, equipment, and specialty products needed for procedures

    • Support staff during surgical cases and provide clinical assistance when needed

    • Monitor patient care activities to ensure compliance with established standards and safety protocols

    • Assist with staff assignments, workflow management, and departmental priorities

    • Serve as a clinical resource for operating room personnel

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and operational projects

    • Help maintain a collaborative, patient-focused surgical environment

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Previous operating room nursing experience required

    • Experience supporting specialty surgical procedures preferred

    • Leadership, charge nurse, or team lead experience preferred

    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic surgical setting
