Assistant Nurse Manager – OR
Sacramento, California | Onsite | Full-Time


Base Salary: $190,000 – $210,000

Position Overview


The Assistant Nurse Manager – OR supports daily OR operations, staffing, resource allocation, patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and staff development within a 24/7 acute-care environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise OR staff, daily operations, assignments, and resource utilization.
  • Support patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, and clinical standards.
  • Maintain survey readiness, mock rounds, and Joint Commission compliance.
  • Support emergency preparedness and hospital response planning.
  • Assist with staffing, productivity, budget, and utilization management.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient care.
  • Support labor relations and union-environment operations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement operational improvements.
  • Maintain clinical competency and perform clinical duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications


  • Active California RN License.
  • BLS certification at hire.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
Ideal Candidate


  • 5+ years of Main OR RN experience in an inpatient acute-care setting.
  • Previous OR leadership experience as Charge RN, Lead, Preceptor, Supervisor, or similar.
  • BSN and/or CNOR strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a large union hospital preferred.
  • IntraOp/Main OR experience required; ambulatory OR experience is a plus.
