Overview

At Riley Hospital's Labor and Delivery unit, we are proud to be a leader in innovative fetal surgeries, while also managing a wide range of non-obstetric cases. Our exceptional, supportive team is equipped with extensive resources, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. With an on-site Sterile Processing Department (SPD), we have quick and efficient access to the supplies and equipment needed for optimal performance. Notably, we are one of the few facilities that does not require surgical technologists to take mandatory on-call shifts. Above all, we work alongside a dedicated group of providers who foster a collaborative, positive, and rewarding work environment.

This is a full time day shift position.

Operating Room Assistants support the surgical team before, during and after surgery. Assists with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies. Provides transportation and needed assistance with patient care. Assists Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.

Requires a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
  • Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
  • Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.
