OpenText Solution Architect

Location: Denver, CO – Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenText Solution Architect to lead the modernization, upgrade, migration, and integration of OpenText environments with SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with OpenText xECM, Archive Server, Content Server, OTDS, SAP integrations, VIM, and OpenText add-ons.

Key Responsibilities

OpenText Modernization & Upgrade

• Plan and execute parallel upgrades of Non-Production and Production OpenText environments.

• Upgrade Archive Server, Content Server with xECM for SAP, and OTDS to the required target versions.

• Deploy and configure OpenText environments on new cloud infrastructure.

• Execute full content reloading from underlying storage volumes.

• Transition existing SAP ECC systems to the upgraded OpenText servers.

• Connect new SAP S/4HANA systems as environments become available.

• Maintain dual connectivity between OpenText xECM for SAP and both ECC and S/4HANA systems during the transition.

• Support ECC system disconnect and final cutover activities.

• Replace ECC-based VIM add-ons with S/4HANA-compatible VIM add-ons.

• Upgrade third-party OpenText add-ons and validate compatibility and functionality.

• Coordinate OpenText upgrade activities with broader application migration schedules and deliverables.

Integration, Remediation & Validation

• Remediate and validate OpenText-specific customizations, workflows, configurations, and integrations.

• Assess and resolve compatibility issues resulting from OpenText version upgrades and infrastructure migration.

• Validate incoming and outgoing interfaces involving OpenText.

• Ensure connectivity between OpenText, SAP ECC, and S/4HANA environments.

• Validate IP, DNS, firewall, reverse proxy, SSL certificates, and other infrastructure prerequisites.

• Coordinate with SAP and infrastructure teams for OS, database, provisioning, backup, and restore activities.

• Ensure OpenText integrations and add-ons are fully operational for SIT, UAT, cutover, and production deployment.

Required Skills

• Strong experience as an OpenText Solution Architect / Technical Architect.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • OpenText Content Server

  • OpenText xECM / xECM for SAP

  • OpenText Archive Server

  • OpenText Directory Services (OTDS)

  • OpenText VIM

• Experience upgrading OpenText environments to newer versions.

• Strong SAP integration experience with ECC and S/4HANA.

• Experience with OpenText third-party add-ons and S/4HANA compatibility.

• Experience with content migration, reloading, and validation.

• Strong understanding of OpenText workflows, configurations, customizations, and interfaces.

• Knowledge of infrastructure dependencies including DNS, IP, firewall, reverse proxy, SSL certificates, OS, and database.

• Experience supporting SAP integration testing, UAT, cutover, and production deployments.

• Strong troubleshooting, technical leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenText modernization or large-scale migration projects.

• Experience working with cloud-based or regulated environments.

• Experience coordinating with SAP infrastructure and application teams.

• Strong understanding of SAP RISE / S/4HANA transformation environments.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate technical dependencies.
